The cottage has a large heated swimming pool ideal for extending the season outside July and August 12 x 6 metres and is situated in beautiful gardens, and is in a small hamlet close to the historic bastide town Gourdon in the valley of the Lot. The house is ideal for a large family or 2 families together or a group of friends. It has 2 double Bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and 2 other double bedrooms with a shared bathroom, the 5th bedroom has 4 single beds, ideal for children. The kitchen is modern and spacious and there is a very nice living room, comfortably furnished.
Just a short walk away is the local village of Concores, and close to Gourdon with its many shops, bars and restaurants an old market town with every amenity you could wish for. Garden games are available for guests’ use including badminton, boules & table tennis. The local village also has a tennis court and boules pitch. At walking distance away there is a lovely quiet campsite with bar and restaurant where you are very welcome.
This beautiful house offers a bit of rustic France in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of France. If it’s long walks in spectacular scenery, visiting historical towns, canoeing down the Dordogne or just relaxing by the pool you’re looking for then this is the place to be!
The hamlet of Beauregard is situated just 10km from Gourdon, and is in a picturesque valley which offers plentiful countryside for walking, cycling and exploring by car. The house is situated just 2km from the local village, Concores, which has its own small shop (and petrol station), bar/café (cheap dinners or lunches!), tennis court and boules pitch. Local fêtes run throughout the summer season, and each weekend usually offers a fête celebration at one neighbouring village or another. In the next village, Peyrilles, is the very popular Restaurant Mourgues, which serves the regional specialty of Mique Levee every Wednesday lunchtime.
The bastide town of Gourdon is 10km and provides a great range of restaurants and bars, including the Orange Tree, please see our useful links page, and also offers bike hire, a regular market day, boutiques and supermarkets. The town perches high on a limestone hill and can be seen from miles away. The medieval streets are a delight and the farmers’ market is a must, giving a fascinating insight into the rural life of the area.
